Overdue fees

Late fee payment for two consecutive weeks, will result in your child’s space being forfeited.

Statutory Holidays

Payment for Statutory holidays is required, as we must pay our staff for these days off. We observe the following Statutory Holidays: New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Part-time children scheduled on a Statutory Holiday are required to pay for that day.   Make – up days are granted based on availability and on a first-come-first-served basis.

Vacation Fees

Parents are requested to inform the Director in advance, when possible, about up-coming vacation to assist with staffing hours and programme planning. You will be entitled to up to 5 days vacation without fees from January 1st to June 30th and up to another 5 from July 1st – December 31st of each calendar year.   The number of days that your child is registered for each week will determine the number of vacation days that you have for each 6 month period. Vacation days cannot be used for statutory holidays, but can be used if you child has missed a regularly scheduled day for any reason, with the noted exception.

Sick Days

Full fees are required for sick days. If your child is off for a full week- you may choose to use one of your allotted vacation weeks, and pay half fees. If a child has been off for more than two weeks due to illness, a doctor’s certificate is required before returning.

Emergency Closure and/or Snow Days

If the Centre is closed due to heavy snowfall, or other emergency situation, fees are not required. However, if the Centre remains open, full fees are required as usual. Listen to your local radio and tv stations for closure announcements.

Late Pickup

One full day for a child at the Centre is nine hours. Those who require their child to remain for a longer period will pay a surcharge at the Director’s discretion. Extended hours should be considered exceptional, as a child’s best interests are not served by a prolonged absence of the parent.

There is a $10.00 charge every 15 minutes for any parent picking up a child after 5:30 p.m.

Serious Occurrence Reporting

A Serious Occurrence Notification Form will be posted within 24 hours when a Serious Occurrence has happened .

This form will be located outside the day care office near our licensing information for 10 days. The intent of this policy is to help support the safety and well-being of children in licensed centres monitored by a licensing agency and to provide greater transparency for parents. Examples of a Serious Occurrence could include serious injury to a child, disaster on-site and/or a founded complaint about service standard.
